Nancy M. Vance has received the 2021 Genealogy-Family History Book Award from the Wisconsin Historical Society for the book, "Some Descendants of Widow Foord: 1621-2021."

About the Book

This year's selection for the Genealogy-Family History Book Award is "Some Descendants of Widow Foord: 1621-2021," by Nancy M. Vance.

The author of this book honored the work of previous generations and her own research to bring forth the story of this branch of the Ford (Foord) family. Vance takes the family from current generations in Wisconsin directly back to early colonial history and blends the family stories with local and national history to share this exciting account of many generations.

About the Award

The award is given to the author of a genealogy book that best documents the history of a Wisconsin family and, in the opinion of the judges, made the most valuable contribution to public understanding of Wisconsin's past during the preceding calendar year. The award is presented in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society.
