Who We Are

The Wisconsin Historical Society’s Local History Outreach program connects local history groups, educators, and communities with resources, training, and recognition. From our Local History Affiliate program and statewide conference to traveling exhibits, markers, and awards, Outreach empowers Wisconsinites to share and preserve history.

Wisconsin State Historical Markers tell the stories about events, individuals, buildings, or sites of local, state, or national significance that contribute to our state's rich historical heritage. There are more than 600 official state markers in Wisconsin.
