Additional Information: | "715 Edgewood is a simple example of the Shingle Style. Characteristic features include the single broad gable that unifies the main facade, the roof that sweeps unbroken from the ridge to shelter the veranda, windows with multiple small panes, and, of course, the exclusive use of shingling for siding above the foundation walls. The house also shows influence of classical and colonial revival taste, notably in the doorway, which features an overlight and pilasters, and in the color, white with green shutters. Normally, Shingle Style houses were left unpainted except for trim." Walking and Biking Through The Dudgeon Monroe Neighborhood, Dudgeon Monroe Neighborhood Association, 1979. |
