Additional Information: | 2015-This two-story, brick building features a glass-and-aluminum-frame storefront. Upper level window openings have been pattially infilled and contain modern fenestration. An inset stone tablet inscribed "Olney-Hackett" is found above the upper-level windows on the primary (south) facade. A stucco-and-half-timbered entrance surround is found on the side (west) elevation. Constructed circa 1921, the building was originally occupied by jeweler Claude W. Olney. By 1929, Hebert Meier operated the Meier Drug Store at this location and remained until at least 1950. The building was later occupied by McAllister's Pharmacy and Ralph's Barber Shop. -"IH-94/USH 41/WIS 341 Survey," WisDOT ID #1080-27-01, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd. (McQuillen) (2015). Construction date from Assessor's records. Earliest permit found was for an oil tank in 1925 under owner Claude Olney, who ran a jewelry store here until at least 1932.
