Additional Information: | Julius and Lisette Buro began work on their castle in 1911. They purchased the Frank and Anashia Eiter house and lot next to the village fire house for $1,950. They moved the existing house to Roxbury and then hired mason Chris Fuchs to lay cement blocks. Cement block was the newest building technology at the time. An addition was constructed in 1976 by Ewald "Pete" Blum, a masterful woodworker. The addition copies the style of the Fauces Tavern where George Washington gave his Farewell Address. |
