Additional Information: | Likely dates to the pre-World War II era. 1993- "Fabricated from metal and rising from a concrete foundation, this garage likely dates to the pre-World War II era. It appears that it could well be one of the prefabricated buildings produced and sold by the Trachte Company, a Madison, WI firm. According to a study prepared by Carol Ahlgren and Frank Edgerton Martin, Trachte buildings had a significant impact on evolving, pre-War, roadside America. This building was identified in the Town of Roxbury/St. Norbert's grant proposal." - "USH 12, Sauk City to Middleton", WisDOT ID #5300-03-01, Prepared by John N Vogel, PhD (1993). |
