Mickey Beam 1977-atleast 1980 residence Fedalia Pike was the widow of Charles Pike. Construction may have lasted from 1890-1902. The Pike house is considered a pivotal structure within the Market Square Historic District. Constructed in the late 19th century, the house reflects the popular Queen Anne style but also incoporates a Shingle Style flavor. The Pike house is a large, two-story frame Queen Anne with Shingle Style influence. The exterior is treated as a taut skin, faced with varying patterns of shingles. The main roof sweeps down to the first story, curving at the corner to shelter a porch. Sharp angles created by the projecting gable roofs constrast with softer, curved forms of the remainder of the roof. |
