Additional Information: | OWNER DATES USES Goddard, A.W 1867-1881 residence Lysaght 1881-1904 residence McKay, Frank 1904-1938 residence Bear, Dr. Nathan 1938-? residence ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: The Goddard house is a fine example of Italianate style design, distinuished by the cornice detailing as well as shaped lintels. The building stands two stories in height and consisits of the main rectangular block, and smaller wings and additions which step back to the rear. The entrance to the house is set beneath a simple transom and surrounded by a cable molding frame. A shaped lintel caps the entrance. Similar lintels are placed above the remainder of the buildings in this block. HISTORICAL STATEMENT: Lysaght was a prominent resident; his widow established the Lysaght Charitable Fund that is still in existence (as of this survey). |
