Originally located in the Jacobus Saloon building, a Wisconsin Telephone Company exchange building, was completed in 1912 on the north side of the Menomonee River. The demand for telephone service and operators grew, and the Wisconsin Telephone Company constructed a larger Collegiate Gothic style office building in 1930 on the south side of Wauwatosa. The Aetna Court building is currently owned by AT&T.
