NOTES
Additional Information:2023:The Dittmar House is a two story, front gable and wing, constructed of cream brick with an irregular plan. It was built ca. 1876. It is unclear the material of the foundation as it is not visible from the right of way. The house is capped with an asphalt roof. Along the roof line of the wings are two brick chimneys; where the roofs intersect is a cupola. Another chimney is located on the roof of the front gable. A porch is located along the front gable and runs along the east wing. It has a flat roof and shelters the main entrance. The second story of the porch features railings along the roofline. A two-story addition was added to the east façade, and a single-story addition was added to the west corner of the house. Both additions are constructed of cream brick to match the original brick of the house and are capped with the same asphalt shingles. 2/2 single hung windows with an arched brick lintel and stone sill are placed on all facades on both the first and second floors. A round window is in the peak of the front facing gable. The house was constructed ca. 1876 by Gustav Dettmar who owned 40 acres. The Dittmar family owned the property until at least the 1950’s.
