ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE:
This structure is a fine example of Victorian residences. Its design is influenced by Queen Anne elements.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
William H. Osborne was born in 1863 in Tecumseh, Michigan. He came to Wisconsin in 1870, where he was employed with a mining company at Iron Ridge. He came to Milwaukee in the same year and took employment with the Milwaukee Iron Co.

In 1878 he and others organized the Wisconsin Malleable Iron Company and in 1879 became its president, a position he held for 52 years (at the time of Gregory's writing, 1931). In 1905 he founded the Lake Side Malleable Casting Company at Racine.

Resurveyed as part of Milwaukee Downtown Connector Arch/History Survey (2010), Prepared by Heritage Research.
