NOTES
Additional Information:The building has a rectangular plan and is constructed of regularly coursed limestone ashlar. It is two-stories in height with no foundation, making the first story seem much lower than usual. The building has a steeply-pitched roof and narrow wooden frieze. Symmetrical fenestration consists of single-light sashes that replaced the two-over-two-light sashes seen in a circa 1936 photograph. However, the earliest windows may have been six-over-six-light sashes. The main entrance is in the west elevation and consists of a wood door with six lights. A paired sash window sits to the south of the main entrance and may enclose an opening that was a larger shop window or entry.

This c.1845 stone building was originally built as Amos Tucker's plow factory, which it remained until at least 1858. In 1860 and 1861, the building had been converted into a house for Peter Fonda. In 1891, the building was noted on a plat map as being a "Hall.", which suggests that at that time, all or part of the building was used as a community meeting place. In 1936, it was a residential duplex. (McLenegan, p. 63; Plat Maps)

Previously surveyed in 1977.
