Additional Information: | THE TOWN SQUARE AS IDENTIFIED IN THE EARLY PLAT OF MILTON. 2024: Milton Town Square was established on land provided for this purpose by Joseph Goodrich in the late 1830s or early 1840s. The town square is a rectangular parcel that is bounded by Parkview Drive, Madison Street, Janesville Street, and High Street and is now known as Goodrich Square. South Goodrich Park encompasses land at the south end of the square and North Goodrich Park encompasses land at the north end; Milton East Elementary School sits between the north and south parks. The south end of the square (adjacent to High Street) contains a mown grass field, two baseball diamonds, a recently-constructed splash pad, and small utility structures with a scattering of mature trees. A wide, concrete walking path meanders along the square’s southern edge. The north end of the square is separated from the remaining space via railroad tracks. |
