Additional Information: | Returned eaves; pediment with fan-carving over door. Rounseville was a nursery man. Also owned by Silas Crocker from 1878-1892; then Abner Heald from 1892-1936; then Curt Joa (and later Curt Joa Inc.) until the present. House itself dates to 1864. Current Georgian Revival-style appearance dates to circa 1990, when house was resided in synthetic clapboards. Extensive grounds include stone walls built during Abner Heald's ownership. Curt Joa was an avid horseman, and organized the "Hillcrest Town and Country Club" which held annual horse shows. Joa also built several barns on the estate.
