Additional Information: | Three bays with panels over each. The Municipal Pumping Station first appears in city directories in 1940 at the address 1110 S. 7th Street. The station’s address was renumbered twice, becoming 1218 S 7th Street by 1949 and again to 1208 S 8th Street by 1958. The Seventh Street station continues to serve the City of Sheboygan wastewater collection system into the 21st century as one of the system’s four lift stations conveying domestic, commercial, and industrial wasterwater along with stormwater runoff to the wastewater plant (AHI 82493) for treatment. The lift stations are designed to lift wastewater from lower areas of the city to allow it to continue moving by gravity flow. The other three lift stations are located at North Avenue and Lake Michigan, Indiana Avenue east of Taylor Drive, and at the wastewater treatment plant. |
