NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This three story Queen Anne house is currently undergoing restoration. Original extant features include tall, decorative brick chimneys, an attic story porch, a multi-sided "oriel/tower," and decorative gable ornamentation. The architect and/or builder was Luther Clark. (See Bib. Ref. D). Although the original design integrity has been destroyed over the years, restoration may reverse this. The dwelling was owned in 1982 by John M. Pateros.

Historical Statement:

This residence was built in about 1888 for Samuel Alonzo Pond, who was listed in the 1876 city directory as a "broker," and later in the 1891 city directory as a "mail contractor." (See Bib. Ref. A, B, C).
