Additional Information: | 409 Dahl Street Atwood and Elizabeth Smith House This two-story, front-gabled, frame vernacular house was built circa 1904 for Atwood Smith (City of Rhinelander tax rolls, Rhinelander telephone books). The house has corner and raking cornice boards, returned eaves, and an enclosed front-gabled full-facade front porch. The porch was added between 1920 and 1929 (1920 and 1929 Sanborn Map of Rhinelander). Atwood Smith was a drayman, and lived in the house until circa 1913 (Rhinelander telephone books). He retained ownership of the house until at least 1920 (Rhinelander tax rolls). |
