Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. One and one-half story cream brick house has a raised limestone basement, a polygonal bay and decorative segmental arches over the windows. 2008-Previously surveyed in 1975. Since 1975, all but three of the two-over-two-light, segmental-arched windows have been replaced with rectangular, one-over-one-light examples. As well, the rear has been modified with a new entrance and the former clapboard sheathing along the rear has been replaced with vinyl. Furthermore, the original wooden porch posts and decorative trim has been replaced with molded plastic that somewhat replicates the original. A handicapped-accessible ramp has also been added to the west end of the house, thus reorienting the original stairs. The property also includes a large bank barn with hand-hewn timbers and mortise and tenon construction (AHI 149761); a machine shed (AHI 149763); a poured concrete silo (AHI 149762); a metal shed; and the former milkhouse which has been re-sheathed and window added. |

Bibliographic References: | Information, which was written by the Dreps' granddaughter, Rose Rumpff, was supplied at the time of the 1982 Sheboygan County Landmarking process. She indicates that a log cabin was built in 1865 and in 1881, the east wing was built and the log portion was bricked over. The following year, the east, two-story wing was added. Despite that info, tax rolls information does not indicate when improvements were made. A significant valuation rise occurred between 1877 and 1878; however, that appears to have been an across-the-board rise as all four cream brick constructed homes on CTH O from 6623 to 5305 had a significant rise at that time.
