Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Allsbacher was a hop and tobacco magnate. High Victorian Electic style with brick exterior, Eastlake porch, second story balcony, third story jerkin gable, multigabled, bargeboards and tall chimneys. This mansion was condemned in February 2009 and on June 23, 2010 struck by lightning leading most of the building to be burned . On June 16, 2011 what was left of the mansion was demolished. All that remains on the property is the 19th century 300 ft. well and the concrete ping pong tables from when it was turned into a resort. The mansion's cornerstone and dinner bell went to the historical society's Boorman House Museum in Mauston.
