Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Destroyed by fire on 7/1/2002. Reputed to be the oldest house in Milwaukee. Daniel Richards, editor of Milwaukee's first newspaper, bought this house from Burdick in 1842. Complete Historical discussion in Milwaukee Journal, Oct. 17, 1976, "Our Forgotten Oldest House" by H.
