Additional Information: | "Local cabin resort owner Charles Luka built this bar in 1948, for his daughter, Mary, who became one of the first roadside business owners on the west side of the Flowage. By positioning herself along an increasingly busy road, Mary and her successors have been well-placed to feed, water and provide bait for travelers who have not reached their destination or have no set destination in mind. The current owners took the present name from western Iron County's logging heritage. Carl Nelson, an independent logger for the Roddis Logging Company, built his headquarters camp, or Camp 1, about one-quarter mile west of the building in 1925. In addition to logging, Nelson was also responsible for hauling fill to the site of Turtle Dam, then under construction."
