NOTES
Additional Information:Building 3 of the Theodore Rietz Distillery complex is a rectangular two-story structure with a Boomtown front. The first story is constructed of stone, apart from the facade, which is faced with brick. The entire second level is sided with vertical wood boards. The ground level of the facade consists of a window and garage door, which appears to be the original configuration based on historic photos of the building accompanying 1931 and 1945 Sheboygan Press articles about the distillery (Figures 1 and 2, attached). The images also show the facade painted with the words, “Theo Rietz, Registered Distillery No. 18.” First story windows have been replaced, but the second story windows are the original six-over-six wood sashes. The rear, southeast corner of the second story has collapsed. The interior spaces appear to be mostly intact. The first floor consists of two open rooms separated by large double plank doors. The second floor could not be accessed due to safety concerns.
