Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This building was erected at a cost of $50,000. Badger State Bank incorporated in 1907 and occupied a variety of locations at the intersection of W. North Ave., W. Fond du Lac Ave., and N. 21st Street before building the subject structure at the same intersection. Badger State Bank joined the Wisconsin Bankshares Group in 1929; however, remained independent until 1938. That year, they became an affiliate of First Wisconsin Bank, and operated as the Badger Office of the 1st WI Bank until 1968. It was then renamed as the Fond du Lac at North Branch of the First WI bank. First WI later evolved as Firstar, the latter occupying the facility until 1998 when ownership transferred to Legacy Bank. Example of Stripped Classicism, which is not an option with the drop-down menu. Exterior alterations are minimal including replacement doors and windows and the installation of a TYME (cash) machine. Also included on this parcel are seven Milwaukee Harp Lights, replicas that were installed in 1995. |
