Additional Information:A 'site file' titled "Menomonee River Parkway" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 1995- Stone arch pillars. 2011- Resurveyed; appearance unchanged. Hoyt Park was established by Milwaukee County as a part of the Upper Menomonee River Parkway in 1926. The 34-acre facility was purchased by the City of Wauwatosa in 1928 and renamed Emerson D. Hoyt Park. A non-extant public pool was constructed on the site in 1931. The park was transferred back to the Milwaukee Park Commission in 1936, and the Civilian Conservation Corp constructed a larger concrete pool with an accompanying filtration and purification plant, which opened in 1939. A suspension bridge and a Swan Boulevard automobile traffic bridge were constructed in 1939. The pool was removed and reconstructed in 2010, and the bathhouse was remodeled the same year.
