Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. This one-story astylistic utilitarian tunnel watchman's shack features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, an earthen foundation, a wood frame construction, a wood trim, and an asphalt shingled gable roof. Wood drop siding covers the exterior walls. Elroy-Sparta State Trail: "The Elroy Sparta State Trail is a converted Chicago & Northwestern railroad bed which now accomodates hiking, bicycling and snowmobiling. The trail is 32 miles in length and passes through three rock-tunnels between Elroy and Sparta. Kendall and Wilton tunnels are 1/4 miles long, and the Norwalk tunnel is 3/4 mile long." (See Bib. Ref. B). "The Elroy-Sparta Trail is the property of the State of Wisconsin and is a part of its State Parks System. It is operated by the Depatment of Natural resources. The Trail paralells Highway 71 Elroy to Sparta." (See Bib. Ref. B).
