| Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. The 1920 census identifies Mary in the home, as well as a boarder, Maude M. Cooley. Maude was the daughter of George & Mary Nash Cooley and the granddaughter of JM Nash, the owner of 1809 Wauwatosa Avenue. Mary's tenure in the home was rather short-lived for in September 1920 it was reported that she purchased the Church Street home of J.R. Benoy and would be occupying it on October 1st, 17 September 1920. By 1926, the house was owned by Mrs. Frida Linley, the widow of Philip Linley. Frida was the office assistant/secretary of the School Board. Frida resided here until at least 1946. |
