It was designed by Wesley Hess and the builder was John D. Edwards. Wauwatosa city directories and the census confirm that the house was owned by Raymond T. Zillmer, an attorney, and his wife Helen and their family. "Studio Type Home," The Milwaukee Journal, 8 September 1929, real estate section, image and caption. Cites the architects as Hess & Kemnitz; builder, John D. Edwards. Cost, est. $20,000.
