Additional Information:Peter McGuire was a professor at the University of WI Extension; they owned the house through at least 1940, per the US Census. They did, for a period (at least 1932-1933), rent the house out while residing in Madison, where Peter was working as an instructor. Peter and Edith had at least two sons, Paul and Roger.
Bibliographic References:Original permit dated, 13 July 1926. Includes owner: Edith C. McGuire; est. cost: $8,000; and contractor: Joseph F. Garvens. The Daily Reporter, 16 July 1926, cites that the $8,000 house for Edith C. McGuire was designed by architectural designer Walter Trapp.
