Additional Information:Maurer (1869-1948) lived here from 1900 until his death. Was a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin from 1893-1935. Was Chairman of the Department of Mechanics from 1895-1935. Won the Benjamin Garver Lamme Award for excellence in the teaching of engineering from the American Society of Engineering Education in 1934. Was an author and co-author of numerous books on engineering and structural mechanics.
