Additional Information: | This building was built as a church hall for St. John's Lutheran Church. This building has some historical interest as a church hall for a large Lutheran church, but it is not individually historically significant. Built in 1926, St. John's Church Hall is a simple frame building constructed on an elevated brick foundation covered by horizontal clapboards and features multipaned long rectangular windows. An open one bay entrance porch with a brick foundation featuring double leafed doors to the basement is located on the facade. Although well-preserved and an interesting building type in the history of Watertown, the vernacular frame St. John's Church Hall does not meet the criteria for architectural significance. |
