Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Memorial Park Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. Previously surveyed in 1986. Wooden gambrel ends; multipaned service doors; intersecting gambrel roofs with steep gable over entrance. This property became a gas station around 1930 and remained such in 1936. This property has some historical interest as a relatively early location of a gas station. It is not individually historical significant, though. This building does not meet the criteria of the NRHP for architectural significance because of a lack of integrity. However, this building has sufficient architectural character to contribute to the proposed historic district. |
