NOTES
Additional Information:Flat straight window lintels; screened south side porch at rear of building; altered store front; door to second story on facade; flat roofed oriel window covered by decorative shingles; corbelled brick under large projecting metal cornice ornamented by brackets and pressed geometric designs.

Characterized mainly by an Italianate styled bracketed metal cornice and flat roofed oriel window, the Yahr Bakery building was constructed of cream brick in the early 1890s on the site of the earlier frame Yahr Bakery. A second story open porch on the roof of the shed roofed brick addition is located at the rear of the building.

The Yahr Bakery has been altered by the addition of a storefront remodeled in a contemporary manner.

The Herman Yahr Bakery building is an Italianate influenced commercoa; building probably later remodeled to include the Queen Anne influenced oriel window. Although this building is not architecturally significant, the building contributes to the historic character of the Main Street Commercial Historic District.

This building housed the Herman Yahr Bakery during the 1890s. It was then a paint store and then a barber shop until at least 1930.

This building has some historical significance as the location of several retail businesses. None are individually historically significant but they contribute to the overall development of commerce in the Main Street Commercial Historic District.
