Additional Information: | Exposed rafter ends; wooden windows with two over two lights; bay window; enclosed porch supported by multiple short posts on paneled bases; transom porch windows; hip roofed garage. There is no historical information currently available about the owner, therefore it is currently historically insignificant under criterion B. This frame American Foursquare house exhibits the typical features of early American Foursquare house form. It is characterized by the typical features of the early 20th century American Foursquare including the cuibc shape and Craftsman/Bungalow details such as exposed rafter ends and short porch columns placed on high bases. This exceptionally well-preserved house was constructed between 1920 and 1922. It was built for Robert Dolan. The Dolan house may meet the criteria of the NRHP for architectural significance on the basis of compairson with other examples of ist period in Sparta. Clearly, it is among the better presrved examples of the style. |
