NOTES
Additional Information:This was the long-time location of meat markets under several differet owners. Originally constructed for Fred Hoffman in c. 1868 for his meat market, it was the Henry Jaedecke meat market between c. 1891 and c. 1897. Later, it was a meat market under several owners until at least 1930.

This building has some historical interest as a long-time meat market, however none of the businesses were individually historically significant. The building does contribute to the overall development of commerce in the Main Street Commercial Historic District.

The site of a meat market during the 19th century and earky 20th century, this was a cream brick three-bay commercial building constructed as Fred Hoffman Meat Market and residence around 1868. The brick surface has been covered completely by horizontal siding and the storefront and second story windows have been changed to a contemporary style. The one and a half story rear addition also has been covered by modern siding.

The Hoffman Meat Market has suffered extensive and unsympathetic alterations of its architectural alterations of its architectural character. Because of the extensive alteration of its historic character, this building does not contribute to the proposed Main Street Historic District.
