Additional Information: | Constructed between 1915 and 1926 to exhibit its present appearance, this small commercial building was built for Frank Koser who used the part of the space for his adjacent bakery business at 111 S. Second St. Featuring inset white concrete accents along the upper facade, the red brick three-bay facade has a completely remodeled storefront. A one-story brick addition originally used as a bake house in conjunction with the adjacent Koser Bakery also was added to the rear between 1915 and 1926. The Frank Koser building influenced by the 20th century contemporary-early modern style is characterized mainly by decorative brick and tile patterns inset in the flat brick surfaces. Although this building is not architecturally significant, the Koser building contributes to the historic character of the Main Street District. |
