Additional Information: | Old numbering: 840 Main. Second Empire style house has a mansard roof with a bell-cast and a corner tower with rounded roof. See newspaper clipping in County Resource File. Olin & Calvert designed this home in 1885 for Ludvig Peder Moen. Born in Norway in 1858, Moen worked a variety of jobs before opening his own general store. He later sold insurance. Moen remained in the house until his death in 1958. A later owner was Ellida Moen (1884-1971). The house was remodeled in 1917, c. 1971 and c. 1987. |
