Additional Information: | Photo codes: OUT:FRV 2/12A, 13A. See HAER form. NAER INVENTORY (03/1981): The bottling company is located in a residential area of Seymour. The first of the four buildings was constructed about 1940 by Jack Kissinger. An original frame building was torn down then. The two concrete block additions added later, the dates of construction undetermined. The company, owned at present by Melvin Kuske and William Bartelme, has had a half dozen different owners in the last 40 years. The bottling operation is housed in the original building, which contains 20 year old bottling equipment, while the other buildings are utilized primarily for storage. The second floor contains living quarters and an ingredient mixing area. The firm bottles "Seymour Beverages" and handles 1000-1500 cases of soda pop per week. It also distributes other brands of soda. The bottling operation itself employes one or two people. The Seymour Bottling Company consists of four buildings joined together. The first three are similar in construction; 2 story, concrete-block wall material with concrete foundation, gabled roofs and rectangular floor plans. The windows are flat and pivoted with lug sills. The three buildings measure 55 feet long x 30 feet wide. Four years ago another addition was constructed, housing a loading dock, garage, and additional storage space. |
