Additional Information:Photo codes: OUT/FRV 2/8A, 9A. See HAER form. NAER INVENTORY (03/1981): The Holstein Dairy Cheese Factory, a two-story wood frame building southeast of seymour, is estimated to have been built about 1917. the first known owner of the plant is Joseph Adamski, who purchased the building in about 1927.. He estimates the building was about 10 years old at the time of purchase. Adamski made cheese at the plant for two-to-three years before selling to Gustave Laske in 1929. Laske retained the Holstein Dairy name, manufacturing mostly American, cheddar and some colby cheese. Excluding truck drivers, the firm was a two man operation. About 1955, Mr. Adamski [reverting to Adamski seems to be a mistake in the NAER inventory] sold the plant to the Outagamie Producers Coop, in Black Creek, which reportedly removed the cheese making equipment from the building. To what use the coop put the building is not knon. The former cheese factory is presently used as a living quarters and, possible a private machine shop. the building has a gabled/boomtown roof, sash and double hung windows, a concreted foundation, and measures 32 x 32 feet. cheese factory
