OAHP INVENTORY (07/1981): This structure was originally constructed by Mr. William Tnurk around 1900 as a cheese and butter factory. Mr. Tnurk owned and operated the Sugarbush Cheese Factory until 1921 when the operation was sold to Mr. Emil Peters. Mr. Peters continued to produce cheese until 1950 when the plant closed permanently. Since the ceasing of operations the structure has been used by several individuals as a garage and general storage facility. The single story structure measures 30 x 50 and is constructed of brick. cheese factory |
