Additional Information: | Sanborn-Perris maps show that this small, intact one-story Twentieth Century Commercial Style building was built between 1922 and 1933 and that in 1933 it housed a plumbing business. 1995- "Commercial Building (now Gary's Rock Shop), VE25/18. Sanborn maps show that this small, very simple but highly intact rectilinear plan one-story 20th Century Commercial style building was built between 1922 and 1933 for an unknown owner; in 1933 the building housed a plumbing business. The building has brick walls and its symmetrical west-facing main facade consists of a simple storefront having a centered inset entrance, store windows on either side, brick bulkheads below the windows, and a full-width prism glass transom. The facade is crowned by a simple stepped parapet wall, which hides the building's flat roof. Although the building has a very high degree of integrity, its small size and very simple design makes it unlikely that it would be individually eligible for inclusion on the NRHP." - "USH 14 Transportation Study ", WisDOT ID #1646-07-00, Prepared by Timothy F Heggland (1995). |
