The owner, J.J. Nelson was a prominent busniessman. In 1931 it became the Sunset Hotel. From 1955 to the mid-1960's it served as a nursing home. Today it is again a hotel. Though the building has been greatly altered twice, it remains a prominent Amherst landmark. 1903 portion designed by Fred Webster of Ripon. |
