NOTES
Additional Information:THIS BRICK, TWO-STORY HOUSE WITH INTERSECTING HIPPED ROOF FORMS HAS A THREE-BAYED ELEVATION TO THE SOUTH; A DORMER WINDOW OF 15 OVER 15 LIGHTS ABOVE THE PROJECTING CENTRAL BAY IS SIMILAR TO THE 15 OVER 15 STAINED GLASS WINDOW IN THE CENTER OF THE BAY. ELONGATED WINDOWS WITH PLAIN STONE LINTEL AND PLAIN CORNICE BOARDS CHARACERIZE THE HOUSE. THE DOUBLE DOORED ENTRANCE INTO THE SIDE OF THE CENTRAL PROJECTING BAY AND THE SHED ROOFED PORCHES EXTENDING TO EITHER SIDE OF THE CENTRAL BAY WITH OUT-OF-PROPORTION, LOW, BALUSTRATED PORCH RAILINGS GIVE THE HOUSE A 19TH CENTURY PICTURESQUE APPEARANCE. THIS HOUSE IS ARCHITECTURALLY SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE IT IS THE LARGEST AND MOST ELABORATE 19TH CENTURY BRICK HOUSE IN DARLINGTON. A VISUAL LANDMARK IN AN OLD, PROMINENT NEIGHBORHOOD, IT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED FOR THE MOST PART IN ITS ORIGINAL STATE.
