NOTES
Additional Information:This two story commercial building has, like the adjoining structure at 1036 Main St., been painted and modernized. The three second story windows retain simple arches, but the glass areas have been painted. The storefront of Ben's Jewelers is one of the finest examples of Carrara glass in the city. The black panels beneath display windows were sandblasted to create a three dimensional curved effect. The remainder of the building has lost integrity, with only window caps remaining. The Iverson Building was constructed in the early 1880's by Jules Iverson for use as his jewelry store. Although Iverson subsequently moved to a new building at 1231 Third St. in the 1920's, this store has continued as a jewelry store under various owners sincve its construction.
