NOTES
Additional Information:This two story commercial building is a free standing structure, distinguished by an elaborate cornice. Corbelled brick supports the metal cornice which curves into a center pediment. Below this are three narrow windows capped by brick arches. The storefront has been reworked with brick and ceramic tile, which detracts from the design of the building. However, the second story retains sufficient integrity to warrant designating the building as a contributing structure in the proposed Commercial District. This building appears on the 1898 Sanborn Map of the city. It appears in the 1903-4 City Directory as the firm mentioned above. There is no commercial listing at this address in the 1896 Directory. Over most of its life this building has been a bar. The cornice-stone is no longer readable.
