Additional Information: | 2023: The Snowflake Ski and Golf Club is in Timber Coulee on County Road P north of Westby. As of 2023, the ski and golf club consists of two ski jumps hills (72582 and 246163), a nine-hole golf course (246164), a clubhouse (246165), and three concession/service buildings. The Snowflake Ski Club originated in 1922 and hosted ski jumping tournaments at three previous locations before purchasing lands from the Eugene Volden farmstead at its present location in 1960. A new 80-meter ski jump (725852) was constructed, known as Large Hill, in 1960 and inaugurated in January 1961. In 1999, the Large Hill ski jump was increased to a 118-meter (K106) Olympic-sized hill, and the profile of the landing area was remodeled. Reportedly, the annual Large Hill Meet has since the 1960s attracted ski jumpers nationwide and internationally. |
