Additional Information: | The A.F. and A.M. West Salem Lodge (No. 125) was built at the corner of Leonard and Hamilton streets in 1902, although the organization itself was chartered in 1860. Initially, the group met in their first hall, located in the former Village of Neshonoc. They later located to West Salem in a building that previously occupied this site, until it was replaced in 1902 with the present building. Leonard's Dream indicates that the Lodge was one of only seven buildings to survive the catastrophic 1911 fire that ravaged West Salem's central business district. Previously surveyed in 1992. |
