NOTES
Additional Information:2023: Plat maps and atlases of Vernon County indicate the property was that of Anton Nelson and was constructed between 1878 and 1896. The Anton Nelson Farmstead stands along Knapp Valley Road in the vicinity of an earlier saw mill in Section 30 of the Town of Clinton, Vernon County. As it stands, the farmstead consists of a log house (72152), log barn (72153), and frame barn (246181). The log barn was constructed circa 1895. It is a rectangular plan gable roofed agricultural building constructed south of Knapp Valley Road opposite the house. The barn stands at grade with square hewn logs stacked and adjoined with dovetail notching. The gable ends and portions of the exterior are clad in vertical wood plans. The eaves are open with exposed rafters. The roof has been covered with metal. Pedestrian entrances are centered in the east and west gable end walls. 1976: Log barn, 20 x 30, in ruinous condition; interior remodeled with stancheons, cement floor; now filled with baled straw.
