NOTES
Additional Information:In 1936 and 1937 the Works Progress Administration constructed a public pool in Dousman Park on St. Feriole Island. The swimming pool and pump house were constructed in 1936 while the adjacent bath house was completed the following year. The project cost $35,000 and employed about eighteen WPA workers with eight others quarrying the necessary stone from the Bridgeport quarry. The pool opened for public use in the spring of 1937. The swimming pool was removed during the 1970s flood damage reduction project, but the bath house and pump house remain.
