NOTES
Additional Information:Frieze windows directly under cornice; rear one story addition; cornice returns in the gable ends; open ell porch with turned posts and cut out bracket capitals and balustrade.

Fred Gohres, a carpenter, lived here between c. 1870 and c. 1900. Later, numerous residents occupied this house. This c. 1870 house is one of the very few extant examples of the Greek Revival influence in the city. Also featuring well preserved Victorian porches of turned posts with bracket capitals and spindles. This vernacular house is important to the architectural character of the city as one of the few wooden examples of the Greek Revival influences. Other brick examples of the Greek Revival are the houses at 900 E. Cady (50/16), 901 S. 6th (40/16) and 614 Cleveland (21/6).
