Additional Information: | THIS FRAME TWO-STORY OF MULTIPLE FORMS ON A DRESSED ROCK FOUNDATION HAS A SLOPING ROOF INTERSECTED BY A SMALLER GABLE AT THE FRONT AND BY A CONICAL ROOFED, 3-STORY TOWER ON THE EAST SIDE. CORNICES OVER THE WINDOWS, A TWO-SIDED PORCH SUPPORTED BY CLUSTERED SHORT TUSCAN COLUMNS AND DECORATIVE BRICK WORK ADD FURTHER INTEREST TO THIS PICTURESQUE HOUSE. THE ADDITION OF SIDING HAS GREATLY ALTERED THE APPEARANCE OF THIS LARGE HOUSE. 2013: Since 1982, the asbestos sheathing has been replaced with narrow vinyl and the tower has been sheathed with a modern stone veneer. Decorative brackets that previously adorned the cutaway corners have also been removed. Robert Wilson, who was an attorney, died on 31 December 1903 and his widow Mary, who had remarried to John B. Roy, sold the house to Millard Howery on 19 May 1908 (60/365, #97918). |

Bibliographic References: | The home is not depicted on an 1895 plat map (sanborns do not cover the city this far west). Assessor's records cite an 1897 date of construction for the house, which is believed to be the correct circa date. As of 1890 (37/207), the much larger parcel was transferred from William and Mary Ann Wilson to their son Robert J. Wilson. “Architecture/History Survey: Reconstruct STH 81 (E.
